Summary:
The O Antiphons come from the Liturgy of the Hours. They are the antiphons prayed prior to the Magnificat each evening during evening prayer from Dec. 17 to Dec. 23. Each evening a title of Jesus is meditated on in preparation for the coming of Christ. These titles (O Wisdom, O Adonai, O Root of Jesse, O Key of David, O Orient, O King of Nations, and O Emmanuel) show that Jesus is the fulfillment of the Old Testament promises. The O Antiphons have a link to the sacraments as well as the virtues. This packet also speaks about how we as Christians are called to L.E.A.P. (Liturgy, Education, Apostolate, and Prayer).
